Is It Worth Getting Train Insurance From Columbus?

Everytime I book train tickets from thetrainline. com, I get the option of paying an extra £1 each way to get insurance from Columbus and, as it’s not much and it seems a good idea to have insurance, I always go for this. Is this insurance worth having? Has anyone reading this ever successfully made a claim? They insure against train delays but, if a train was severely delayed, causing me to miss a connection or an event I was going to, would I be entitled to compensation from the train company anyway?
